This series of three photos shows Saddam Hussein’s parade grounds where Iraqi troops once marched. Inside the Green Zone, it is now a place for curious U.S. soldiers to stroll. Partially buried in concrete between the two giant hands holding the swords, are numerous helmets of Iranian soldiers killed in the Iran-Iraq war, placed so passing vehicles and the feet of marching Iraqi troops will further dishonor them. At the base of each of the giant hands is a large net, overflowing with more Iranian helmets.
