Host Dave Stewart interviews Mike Ferner, president of Veterans For Peace. Mike discusses his experience as a corpsman in a Navy hospital during the Vietnam war, how seeing the human cost of war caused him to be separated from the Navy as a conscientious objector, and what he has learned from a lifetime in the peace movement. He was in Bloomington April 29, 2009, to give a speech titled “Beyond Iraq and Afghanistan”, drawing on Martin Luther King’s 1967 speech, “Beyond Vietnam”.
